Airport Loop (short course)
I've been off the bike for about two weeks so the mind was fresh and eager to feel the wind. My lungs and heart not so much. It took me about 45 minutes to recover after sprinting for the first city limit sign. All to be expected. It's just good to be back in the bunch. Familiar faces, familiar roads and lots of laughs makes for a great way to spend a Saturday morning.
What do you eat before the Saturday ride? Eggs of course. Double stack. 2 Eggo waffles, a slice of prosciutto, melted cheese and a touch of maple syrup. Let's Eat!
Almost dark at 7am. The light is leaving us.
The boys were feeling good. Wheels hot from the get go.
Airport loop has worked its way into a regular route for the Saturday ride.
The road is smooth and interesting.
The sweat machine is back. Sorry fellas.
Art doesn't seem to have bad days on the bike. Solid ride.
The pace seemed fast to me. Glad some others felt the same way.
The loop is more up then down in the clockwise direction.
Time to hold the wheel.
Couldn't quite manage.
Lucky for me a rest stop was coming up. After taking care of some "issues" I felt...let's just say a whole lot better. Good times with good folks.
Pineapple tomatoes from farmers market are the bomb. Eggs over beans topped off with Clint's Texas Salsa. My new favorite salsa. Let's Eat!
Super X making friends with Po-Po.
Dirt was on tap for Sunday morning.
The inevitable.
If you don't have a cross bike you should seriously consider it. It opens the door to a whole new world of route possibilities. Best cycling purchase I've made in awhile.
PCG came back from our vacation inspired and I'm not complaining. Let's Eat!
